Guest curator and Museum Board member Arva Moore Parks assembled this historical Coral Gables in 2009 for presentation at the Old Spanish Village Sales Gallery housed in the building that in the 1920s served as the City’s original Art and Architecture Center. Featuring never before seen early Gables’ memorabilia and Merrick family photographs, the Celebrate exhibit chronicled the arrival of George Merrick and his family, and the development of the City of Coral Gables in the 1920’s. This exhibition will be expanded and installed in the Museum’s Coral Gables with the new title of Creating the Dream.
