HATCH Miami – APRIL 8 @ 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Celebrate local women artists and entrepreneurs at HATCH Miami, an outdoor fair that takes place in the Coral Gables Museum Courtyard and Plaza from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Shop our vendor pavilion for handmade and artisanal goods. Enjoy locally produced foods and small-batch provisions. Be inspired by local musicians, poets and innovators. Get creative at our kid-friendly HATCHling area with a 2 p.m. family yoga session, 3 p.m. family improv session, and springtime arts & crafts throughout the day. This event is free. Museum admission is by donation.

This event is hosted by the Coral Gables Museum, 285 Aragon Avenue. Bicycle racks available on the Museum Plaza. Parking available in the Museum Parking Garage ($1/hr) on Aragon Avenue. Free.

SPRING CAMP: PAINT THE CITY BEAUTIFUL!

REGISTRATION OPEN!

The City of Coral Gables becomes an outdoor art studio! Campers ages 5-12* spark their imagination, learn about the past, and form lifelong connections with The City Beautiful while creating works of art inspired by its history, architecture, and natural environment.  City Trekkers participate in sketching and plein air painting sessions while visiting some of Coral Gables’ historic landmarks. They experiment with different materials, including graphite, charcoal and watercolor. Back at the Museum, campers will discover different art movements in the Cuban Art in the 20th Century, continue art making in the galleries, and prepare an exhibit of their own work!

*City Trekker Explorers (10-12 years old) develop their own portfolio through age appropriate studio activities.

Tuition rates:

Members (Family): $225/week

Non-Members: $250/week

Members’ Preview Reception -Plan Z

Museum Members will enjoy a preview of the newest exhibit “PLAN Z FOR MIAMI: From Infrastructure to Open Space”, meet and greet with Plan Z’s founder Bernard Zyscovich, and 5:30pm presentation by Global Urban Mobility Expert, Mikael Colville-Andersen, Founder and CEO of Copenhagenize on how “We Can Copenhagenize Miami”. Let’s Bike to Work on March 3!

Dump your car for a day and join the movement for a greener planet. The City of Coral Gables in partnership with Miami-Dade County’ s BIKE305, Bike Walk Coral Gables, the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce and the Coral Gables Museum  wants you change your mode of transportation for one day on Bike to Work Day, Friday, March 3. Arrive early at 7:30 a.m. to the Coral Gables Museum, 285 Aragon Avenue, for a free continental breakfast and giveaways. Enjoy an exhibit preview of “PLAN Z FOR MIAMI: From Infrastructure to Open Space.” Come back to the Coral Gables Museum on your bike from 6-10 p.m. for Gallery Night, free Museum admission and live music. Miami New Times proudly presents the 9th Annual ARTOPIA® event presented by Miracle Mile Downtown Coral Gables on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 6pm – 10pm at the Coral Gables Museum, 285 Aragon Avenue in Coral Gables. This event joins together an eclectic touch of art, culture, fashion, food, music and film. Join us as we celebrate Miami’s best artists, musicians, fashion designers, culinary masters and mixologists. Guests will enjoy complimentary food and drinks, VIP will have specialty drinks not available in general admission and will access the event an hour earlier than general admission. Entertainment includes musical performances, fashion shows, live performance art and works from local artists. The New Times MasterMind Awards will be announced at Artopia. New Times will award grants to local artists, writers, crafts people or others whose work stands out for its enterprise, creativity and genius.
