Panel Discussion: Curatorial Threads of America Weaves

September 12, 2019 | 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

This panel is a conversation between America Weaves’ curator, Adriana Herrera, and some of the local artists in the exhibition over the diverse curatorial lines in play within the project. Among other subjects, participants will refer to recounting history in varied ways through weaving (Brant, Marcuzzi); approaching burning issues that affect our contemporary society with embroidered, double-sided images (Sieh); appropriating textiles of ordinary use in artistic installations (Bosque); and making use of this medium to potentiate ludic and imaginative possibilities in contemporary art (Alex Trimiño).
