December 14
Join us on Family Day as we celebrate the completion of the Tibetan monks’ Sacred Sand Mandala, an intricate and sacred creation representing Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion. Over the course of five days, the monks will craft this powerful symbol of healing and compassion, and on Family Day, you’ll have the opportunity to watch them put the finishing touches on this extraordinary artwork while learning about its meditative significance.
In addition, immerse yourself in a transformative artmaking experience inspired by the monks’ work. Engage in creative activities designed to promote mindfulness, healing, and connection as you create your own mandalas. This hands-on artmaking is open to participants of all ages and artistic abilities, offering a perfect way for families to explore the therapeutic benefits of art and reflection together.
