This exhibition showcases the twenty-five finalist works in the photography contest Capture Coral Gables 2022. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Business Improvement District (BID) of Coral Gables, this year’s special edition focuses on the Downtown area, where most of the activity of the city takes place.
The selected images capture the pace and dynamics of Coral Gables, a historical landmark and vibrant cultural hub that daily attracts people of all ages and interests. They depict meaningful places; interesting architectural details; and the amazing people that lives, works or visits The City Beautiful.
Photo-based artists from different backgrounds, generations and styles submitted work in one of the following categories: City Life, Culture in the City, Architecture and Urbanism, Hidden Treasures and Coral Gables-At Work.
A jury of photography experts selected a winner per category, as well as a Grand Prize. The public is invited to vote online for the People’s Choice Award which will be announced on June 11 at the Closing Reception of the show. At that time, the Museum will also communicate its Acquisition Prize.
Esta exhibición presenta las veinticinco piezas finalistas en el concurso de fotografía Capture Coral Gables 2022. Celebrando el 25 Aniversario del Distrito de Mejora Comercial (BID) de Coral Gables, esta edición especial se enfoca en el área del Downtown, donde tiene lugar gran parte de la actividad de la ciudad.
Las imágenes seleccionadas capturan el ritmo y la dinámica de Coral Gables, centro histórico y cultural que atrae diariamente a personas de todas las edades e intereses. Estas fotografías revelan lugares significativos; detalles arquitectónicos interesantes, así como las personas extraordinarias que viven, trabajan o visitan La Ciudad Bella.
Artistas que se basan en el medio fotográfico, de diferentes orígenes, generaciones y estilos, aplicaron en una de las siguientes categorías: Vida en la ciudad, Cultura en la ciudad, Arquitectura y urbanismo, Tesoros ocultos y Coral Gables trabajando.
Un jurado de expertos seleccionó un ganador por categoría, así como un Gran Premio. Se invita al público a votar en línea por el Premio Popular que se anunciará el 11 de junio en la Recepción de Clausura de la muestra. En esa ocasión, el Museo dará a conocer también su Premio de Adquisición.
