A Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired art exhibition in collaboration with the Coral Gables Museum.
Anthony R. Abraham Gallery | Sept 17th – Nov 1st, 2026
This exhibition celebrates the creative voices of visually impaired artists, bringing together participants of different ages, from children to adults and seniors. It highlights the many ways touch, movement, and imagination can shape art. Created through collaborative sessions, each piece reflects both a personal encounter with materials and ideas and the collective energy that comes from making art side by side. Visitors are invited to consider how vision can emerge through the hands as much as through the eyes.
As part of CGM’s and Miami Lighthouse for the Blind’s celebration of America 250, America Touched, America Seen invites reflection on how national identity is felt, interpreted, and shared. The artists explore themes connected to the American story and the global language of soccer, bringing together ideas of community, resilience, and belonging. Their works remind us that the spirit of a nation is not only seen, but also sensed, shaped, and carried forward by the people who live its history every day.
The exhibition includes collaborative artworks from the SGA adult art program and the Miami Lighthouse Academy 2nd & 3rd grade students, along with 5 individual Miami Lighthouse adult artists’ pieces.
Sponsored in part by the Division of Arts and Culture, the State of Florida, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
