To celebrate community creativity and announce the winner of the People’s Choice Award, Capture Coral Gables hosted a Meet & Greet at JohnMartin’s Irish Pub & Restaurant.

Guests had the chance to connect with the contest finalists and witness the official reveal of the public’s top-voted photograph.

The event highlighted local talent and reinforced the role of photography in capturing the spirit of Coral Gables.

The Coral Gables Museum proudly presents Capture Coral Gables 2025, its annual community photography contest and exhibition, now in its eleventh edition. Since its inception, this event has grown in both quality and popularity, reinforcing the Museum’s mission to engage the community in celebrating the city’s rich heritage and evolving identity.

Every year, artists from all origins and backgrounds are invited to submit fresh images of The City Beautiful in different categories. This year’s edition is particularly special, as it celebrates the Centennial of Coral Gables, inviting artists to explore and reflect on the city’ past, present, and future through six distinct categories: Cultural Fusion, Centennial Treasures, Gables of the Future, True Coral Gables (Social Media Photo), Curious Gables, and AI Memories of The City Beautiful.

Over 25 works, by 19 finalists, were conceived in a wide range of techniques that go from film photography to AI-generated visuals, offering a dynamic portrait of the city. This year, a jury composed by photographers and professors Yessica Gispert and Victor Jaramillo; and arts administrator Laurie Escobar, granted the Grand Prize to the photograph, Sonders by Lou Lozada. The Acquisition Award went to David Gary Lloyd, for the work Brick by Brick. This photograph will come to integrate the Coral Gables Museum collection.
