CORAL GABLES CENTENNIAL

A STORY OF THE CITY THROUGH ITS PLACES AND FACES

September 5th – November 30th, 2025
Carole A. Fewell Gallery

This exhibition examines one hundred years of evolution of public and civic spaces in The City Beautiful. A curated collection of photographs, maps, artifacts, and historical documents will illustrate the transformation of key landmarks, parks, and civic spaces, showcasing George Merrick’s vision for a Mediterranean-inspired community.

A series of events will explore Coral Gables’ history and the next hundred years, sparking conversations on its legacy and future. Through discussions, presentations, and interactive elements, attendees will engage with the past while envisioning what’s ahead for The City Beautiful.

Co-curated by Yuneikys Villalonga and Ania Rodriguez. Part of the research and content was developed by HistoryMiami Museum Resident Historian Dr. Paul George, in collaboration with Coral Gables Museum.
