Presented during the FIFA World Cup 2026, this exhibition explores the extraordinary ways in which football has connected people, cultures, and nations over centuries. Through rare artifacts, archival photographs, and international partnerships, visitors will discover stories of migration, cultural exchange, diplomacy, and peacebuilding linked to the world’s most popular sport.
A centerpiece of the exhibition is the world’s oldest known football, on view in the United States for the first time. Additional highlights trace the Scottish roots of Brazilian football, the legacy of Pelé, and historic moments in Nigeria and Haiti where the game became a platform for dialogue, unity, and international engagement.
Bringing together stories from Scotland, Brazil, Haiti, Nigeria, and Miami, the exhibition offers a unique perspective on how football has shaped identities, strengthened cultural ties, and transcended the boundaries of sport to become a global language of connection.
