ART ON THE PLAZA

Known for his poetic explorations of humanity and inner silence, internationally renowned artist Jaume Plensa creates works that invite contemplation and reflection. His sculpture Minna, temporarily installed on the Museum Plaza, embodies this vision with striking presence.

Cast in bronze, Minna is a larger-than-life portrait of a young woman with her eyes gently closed. The work challenges perception as viewers move around it, revealing shifting perspectives and subtle nuances in form. At the same time, it invites a pause—encouraging visitors to slow down, reflect, and experience a moment of quiet encounter with the piece.

By merging monumental scale with intimate emotion, Plensa transforms the public space into a site of meditation, offering the community a powerful reminder of art’s ability to connect us to both our surroundings and our inner selves.

After being exhibited at the Coral Gables Museum Plaza, Minna will become a permanent centerpiece within the public park at Cora Merrick Park, Constellation Group’s forthcoming mixed-use development in Coral Gables.

This project is made possible through the generous support of Constellation Group, with additional contributions from Holland & Knight LLP, RSM, Marsh, The Boschetti Group, and Cora Merrick Park. Patrons are invited to support the Museum’s ongoing initiatives by contributing to the Public Art at CGM Fund, ensuring that transformative works like Minna continue to shape the cultural landscape of Coral Gables.
