The Doggie Costume Contest, presented by the Coral Gables Museum as part of Trick-or-Treat on the Mile, is one of the city’s most anticipated Halloween traditions. This free, family-friendly event turns Downtown Coral Gables into a festive stage where dogs showcase imaginative costumes and compete for prizes in multiple categories.

Alongside the parade, guests can enjoy vendors, local businesses, and community partners, creating a lively marketplace that highlights the Museum’s role as a cultural hub and reinforces its commitment to civic engagement and local culture. 

All pets are invited to strut their stuff in this year’s costume contest. Each contestant will be judged on Style and Execution, Originality and Creativity, and Charisma&WOW Factor, because every pup deserves a moment to shine.

Every participant will receive a total points score that determines their final placement, and our expert jury will crown four winners with amazing prizes that celebrate creativity, confidence, and flair.

Costumes should be safe, comfortable, and fun, allowing pets to move freely and enjoy the spotlight. All furry participants must remain leashed and under their owner’s supervision. The judges’ decisions are final.
