6:00 PM | Messages from a Pandemic:
AIDS Posters from the Wolfsonian Collection
Co-presented by: Coral Gables Museum, The Wolfsonian-FIU, and The Wolfsonian Public Humanities Lab
Join Dr. Julio Capó, Jr., Deputy Director, Wolfsonian Public Humanities Lab, and Wolfsonian-FIU curator Shoshana Resnikoff as they explore how poster design communicated life-saving, complex, and sometimes contradictory messages during the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Unpacking the visuals of these posters—pulled from The Wolfsonian’ s extensive collection—Capó and Resnikoff will explore some of the themes present in the selection on view in A Matter of Time while connecting them to their work on the online exhibition Messages from a Pandemic.
