A visionary, collector, artist, critic, leader, and entrepreneur, Celia Birbragher has impacted not only the art scene of her native Colombia, but also that in the rest of Latin America and the United States. In 2004, The Ministry of Culture of Colombia, granted her with the Medal for Cultural Merit. Additionally, the Association of Graduates of the Universidad de los Andes presented her with the recognition A Life Devoted to the Arts, in 2011; and the ARCO Madrid Art Fair and ARCO Foundation granted her the A Award in 2015, for more than 40 years devoted to Latin American Art.

Through historical Latin American artworks from different local collections, newspaper and magazine clips, personal correspondence, and ephemera, this biographical exhibition celebrates Mrs. Birbragher’s success story. It also kicks off the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the magazine Arte en Colombia/ArtNexus, founded by Celia in 1976.
