GUITAR CLASS FOR BEGINNERS

*Large group: 5 to 15 students
*Small group: 3 to 4 students
*Semi private: 2 students

Learn how to read music, tab & chords, finger exercises, guitar riffs, and strumming patterns with our Artist in Residence,  Dr. Federico Musgrove-Stetson.

Only group classes available.

Acoustic guitars, guitar stands, music stands, and guitar foot rests are provided to students. The instruments and equipment are on loan from Arts Be You Foundation and Florida Guitar Foundation.

*a minimum of 5 registered students is required for the large group session to start, and a minimum of 3 registered students is required for the small group session to start. 2 students is a semiprivate class, and one student is private. Instructor reserves the right to change beginning date of session based on enrollment. Students will be notified whether their group made minimum enrollment requirement. Students could be placed in the next available group with student consent.

Beginners Guitar I

4 pm – 4:50 pm (7-17 years old)

Beginners Guitar I is an introductory course designed to understand the foundations of guitar music and its different techniques.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

A student successfully completing this course will:

  1. Learn to read music, chord symbols and lead sheets.
  2. Play simple pieces and melodies on classical guitar.

COURSE EXPECTATIONS

  1. Students must be prepared for all classes and be familiar with the assignments.
  2. Students are expected to practice outside class.

Beginners Guitar II

5 pm – 5:50 pm (7-17 years old)

Beginners Guitar II is course for students with previous guitar playing experience designed to understand the foundations of music and learn different techniques of playing. 

COURSE OBJECTIVES

A student successfully completing this course will:

  1. Further improve sight-reading abilities
  2. Understand chord symbols and lead sheets.
  3. Play short pieces and studies on classical guitar.

COURSE EXPECTATIONS

  1. Students must be prepared for all classes and be familiar with the assignments.
  2. Students are expected to practice outside class.

$30 per class – $270, class package
